Ever since she was a little girl, María has had her life precisely mapped out: she'd have her own dental practice, two kids, a big house and a perfect marriage -- all by the age of 30. But when her high school sweetheart dumps her just as they're about to sign their first mortgage, María finds herself in the throes of a premature midlife crisis -- that's further complicated by an unexpected pregnancy. Luckily, her sister Esther, a free-spirited artist lacking direction, and best friend Cristina, a hippie-turned-bigshot-lawyer struggling to keep her family intact, can relate. As María grows to embrace the beauty in the mess, she and her crew begin to realize that happiness runs deeper than what society prescribes.
